Pastry For 2-Crust 9-Inch Pie recipe




2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup pure lard/3/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup ice water


Measure flour into bowl.
Mix in salt with a fork.
Add lard or shortening and cut in coarsely with a pastry blender or two knives.
Sprinkle in water, a tablespoonful at a time, mixing lightly with a fork just until all flour is dampened.
Gather dough into a ball with fingers and press together firmly.
Use as directed in recipe.
